I love to travel but like many other Americans, I have mouths to feed and a roof to keep which means I have a full time day job and at most times several side hustles, as well. These facts mean I cannot just jet off to wherever whenever I feel like it. If I could I would never be home. So to quench my thirst for adventure (of the low risk variety) and discovery, I have been cultivating this idea for a long time. I love books, especially old books, and I love to find them in quaint, unique, out of the ordinary book shops in little known locations.
I love restaurants, but not just any old restaurant, I love the one in the middle of the street on a side street in town, the locals know it, but others do not, the owner and chef are living their dream story and it comes through in every dish they create.
I love trees, especially old, creaky, knotty, amazingly tall and branching out all over the place trees. These are trees that have their own story to share because they’ve been standing in this place watching life go by for hundreds of years.
I love awe inspiring ideas that come from creative people who are not afraid to live their lives outside the box. I love meeting incredible people, having exceptional conversations and sharing crazy, imaginative ideas. To me, these are some of the gems that make life miraculously enjoyable.
At my day job where I sit at a desk for 8 hours, I do not encounter many chances to discover old books in wild places, off the beaten path restaurants, old creaky trees, cool cloud art or amazingly fun people. I imagine there are many people like me out there, dreaming to live but not living the dream. Here’s to the Adventures is my idea for changing all of that in a couple of ways (that I have thought of so far):
This is just the beginning. Keep an eye out, there is much more to come.
Here's to the Adventures!
